Hurricane Season is Here..Be Prepared
June 23, 2010
We are 2 weeks into Florida’s Hurricane Season (July 1st-November 3oth) and it is a good time to make sure you are prepared if any of them decide to bless us with their presence. I sure hope not because the 2004 season is still fresh in my mind. In our area we were without power for 2 weeks.
What really helped was the city where we lived was up and running thanks to generators and portable lighting. This was important because they were able to keep the flow of communication open. Which really helped with the organization of traffic, road clearing and emergency situations.
If you live in Orange County they have this great alert system that will notify you of any emergencies and keep you up to date on all the local news that is important to know during hurricanes, closed roads and other emergency situations.
