Allmand Bros., Inc. Acquired by Briggs & Stratton Corporation

On August 14, Briggs & Stratton Corporation officially acquired Allmand Brothers, Inc. and the acquisition is expected to close within a month.  Briggs & Stratton Corporation is the world’s largest producer of gasoline engines for outdoor power equipment, including portable generators and pressure washers, while Allmand Brothers, Inc. designs and manufactures portable light towers, industrial heaters, and solar LED arrow boards.

Roger C. Allmand, the Chairman of Allmand Brothers, is excited about the acquisition, stating, “the combination of Allmand with Briggs & Stratton will provide even more opportunities for our people and our customers. With a proven track record of operating successfully for over 100 years, we believe that Briggs & Stratton will be able to accelerate our presence globally.”  Briggs and Stratton is equally enthusiastic, as this acquisition “provides diversification into higher margin, higher growth vertical industries and access to new distribution channels.”
